Tips:
Tip #1 - Do not trust your GPS or Internet Maps to get to the farm, lots of folks have been getting lost using these. Your best bet is to follow the directions on the Directions link.
Tip #2 - Only Cash and Checks are accepted. An ATM machine is available if needed.
Tip #3 - Sorry, No pets allowed.
Tip #4 - We have plenty of shaded picnic tables to use and customers are welcome to bring a lunch. Food is available to purchase in the FALL but NOT in the SPRING. Firepits/grills are not available nor are they allowed to be brought in. Alcohol is not allowed.
Tip #5 - There is not an entrance or parking fee. In the Spring you just pay for what you harvest. In the Fall, you just pay for the activities you wish to participate in or the pumpkins you choose.
Tip #6 - No need to bring containers other than your old Sweet Berry Farm box. Fruit must be weighed in our boxes so we can subtract the tare weight. Outside containers are not allowed.
Tip #7 - Only school groups are required to make reservations. General public are encouraged to come anytime during business hours.
Tip #8 - We are open Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Mothers Day, Memorial Day, Fathers Day and Colombus Day (all Holidays during the season).
Tip #9 - The farm is closed ALL Wednesdays.
Tip #10 - You might want to bring your sunscreen and closed toe shoes are recommended. Oh, and don't forget the camera!
Frequently Asked Questions:
Is your farm orgainic?
No, we are not organic. We use fertilizers on our crops along with the occasional use of pesticides to control diseases and insects. We are very conscious of the products we might use and always keep safety in mind. We have set damage thresholds (we can tolerate some damage) and will not make an application until these thresholds are passed. Our biggest culprits are Anthracnose, Botryitis Gray Mold and Spider Mites on Strawberries, Anthracnose and Stink Bugs on Blackberries. Any application we make is done so as a last resort. Pest control products are very expensive and we avoid their purchase as much as possible.
Are your jams, ice cream, smoothies, lemonade and popsicles made by you or do you just put your label on someone elses goods?
With the exception of the pumpkin flavor Ice Cream, everything with our label on it is made by us using our own homegrown produce. Each year we harvest and freeze lots of fruit to use in the making of these items. We make the 'pumpkin' Ice cream but do not put up the pumpkins ourself.
